Description

I was just testing one of the backgrounds on the studio prop that comes with PoserPro 2012--it's nice because it catches shadows (unlike the Background), but it also tends to blur/crop the images. The full background is a very snakey, complicated doodle with some of Painter's new brushes, so I thought having it shown with a snake would be fun, and I looked around on some very old disks and found the Daz Python. (Most of my content went away with my last computer crash; luckily it was all backed up--but all in bits and pieces. ) The Python looks so polygonal and goofy now, but he was hot stuff back in the day--I even have some gorgeous textures for him by IgnisSerpentis..somewhere. He probably would have looked better bigger here. He has a "Fed" morph dial you can turn to make him look like me after Thansgiving :D I hadn't used Tyler before--he looked taller in the promos. ;) Here he looks a little like a banker cosplaying a Snake Lord. I am glad to have a variety of guy models in here, and he's a competent poser, as you would expect from a Blackhearted character, but I am glad I didn't pay the full MP price for him. I do need to adjust his texture--it's a phototex so he has some burned-in highlights that look funny if the light is coming from the side. He's got great hands and feet. Clothes are painted on, the Chair is by Danie and Marforno.

Excellent job! I got the Tyler install package when I bought Blackhearted's Anastasia but I have never been able to get it to install. I've tried a dozen times, in several different ways but, even though it says "successful", he never shows up in the Runtime. Blackhearted never answered my sitemail about a manual install option, so Tyler is still stuck in the little box. Glad to see you getting some use from him!

I had to do some weird thing to get him to run..I forget if he had a password or what, but I did install him from a folder that was separate from PoserPro, the folder was called "install_Tyler_WinSr1" and I am guessing he was either a bundle piece or something off the PP disk; He was in my backups of "Installed Stuff" so apparently he was in PP in 2014 or so and I never called him out of the library. It sounds like maybe you had the not-windows- not SR version? You should ask in the Marketplace support--it might be a know issue and they would just flip you a little file and tada. Otherwise you could probably just get M4 to play his roles :D

Hehe thank you!! Tyler is kind of a low-level snake monarch: (Tyler says "Yeah, just got the one snake. But we're bros.")

It always takes me longer to find things than do anything else; my stuff is not organized ...but then I also find other things when I am looking around, and that is fun. And thank you too!

Poor Tyler, only one snake and "You look taller in your photo's". No wonder he's lookin kinda glum lol.

Oh, some of the stuff I have in one of my old runtimes definitely falls under the mesh-minimalism category lol. I think I have the same python, and even a couple o' few Zygote critters if anyone remembers them.

(Raises hand) I remember!! I just found the Camel and the Hippo AND the Buck. Always great for those visual puns. And thank you too! Yes, I am tepid about Tyler but he will still get to come out now and then and do stuff, since he fills a niche. :D

Very fun. So much of my old content is now lost to time. It;s fun going back in time with you to those days. I think Poser 4 was my first entry into rendering. I still remember how ground breaking some of Sydd's characters like Kane were. Now you have me thinking...hmmmm where could that guy be. Well done and o so fun.

lwperkins

5:51PM | Mon, 03 October 2016

Kane is probably sitting in some bar with the other old Poser guys...Blackhearted's Ki, the Emperor Ken birds.. so many outstanding models waiting to be dug up again! Thank you too!

Nice work.

So ... I still have quite a few old Poser objects on my computer ... It's a pity that with each new version of DAz Studio, the use of these objects has become more and more restricted - either because the bones are no longer moving correctly, the morphs fail, or the surface shows horrible effects ... Pity about M2, M3, AEON Kids, Clarke 1, etc.

Often they just need a new texture--which is not hard for me but very inconvenient for most people! But since I already have so many clothes and characters for these old models I am not willing to give them up. I liked old M2 a lot!
