Description
I've never been interested in branded food or fashion, and can't understand folk who are obsessed by such things.
BUT, whereas,you can keep your Nikes, Janet Reger underwear and all that stuff, nothing beats a good tool (!) and Felco make the best secateurs on the market.
These were a present from my brother for my fiftieth birthday and are more than 2 decades old and still perfect. There is hardly a day goes by when I don't use them.

interesting capture! I concur with the assessment about clothing but give me great tools to work with and I'm happy (especially camping & hunting tools)

These days, I don't think you can make too many generalizations about brands. The same company might produce both excellent products & poor ones. Fortunately, we now have product reviews from both experts & ordinary customers available online to help us figure out the quality of individual products. There's an old French saying which translates roughly as "I'm too poor to buy cheap stuff" - meaning that you're better off spending a little more to buy better quality products that last than buying something cheaper that you end up having to replace much sooner...

And when given proper care they will last forever. This looks as good as new. I'm with you on the branding. I could never understand why I should pay three times the price for a t-shirt just so I could become a walking advertisement for the maker.

Oh wow, you got me where it counts!! I can't believe you've had those for such a long time; I lose my shears almost daily. I absolutely LOVE this foto; you caught the very essence of who gardeners are and the tools of our trade !!!
