Description
This is a render i did a while ago but could never get quite right. For some reason, It's always seemed like something is missing.
Given up on it now so thought i'd post it. Happy to take any constructive feedback/criticism.

I really like the lighting and scene. Great work.

Cool scene, love the atmosphere.

Hmmm, hard to say what's missing since I'm not sure what your original vision was. I would have put in some storage crates and also some floor rubbish to make this look like a garage/storage area that was once used more often and I think that would have enhanced your atmosphere. But the lighting is great, and I like the overall look of the render. It looks true to life.

So well done !!!

Nice atmosphere ! On its own still looks great. But yes, something more like mightymysterio said could be added to the background or something else that gave this render a story / context.

Maybe it needs to tell more of a story to be different from a modern version of Victoria-in-a-temple-with-a-sword-kinda-thing. I think this could be done simply by changing her pose (like looking sideways up to the stair's gallery), and yes, one or two props. Having said that this "discarded" version is much better than what I would call a successful render of mine. Love the lighting.

Thanks for the feedback guys. its very much appreciated. There doesn't seem to be a yes/no answer with art, so it takes a bit of time and thought to come up with suggestions. Without your help though, I'll never get any better at this.
Good point with the "story". Something i'm really struggling with at the moment is inspiration. Its really easy to fall into the trap of just throwing in a good looking girl with a cool pose without thinking about it. Keep this up and i'll be doing renders for k-mart.
Maybe some crates in the background, some bodies, or even busting the door in the background open to make it look like she's forced her way in could give the render a bit of life.
Like the phrase "Victoria-in-a-temple-with-a-sword-kinda-thing". Take that one Lara. ;-)

Your selection of the POV is for the girl. But this POV is bad for the room - the perspective does not look very good. As a result the image falls apart. The dirty glass (through which we look) is too much perhaps. But the whole atmospheric idea is lovely :-).

Thanks, I was thinking maybe if i cropped it to just the girl and the bike and got rid of the staircase it might improve the background. Only problem then would be that i would loose most of the fluorescant lights which is one thing in this image i really like. The "dirty glass" was an act of desperation (or frustration) with this image. I like it, but hate it at the same time.
