Description

First in a series of shots taken 9/16/16 by my nephew as he drove from Hobbs, New Mexico to Santa Fe, New Mexico. How desolate. I don't know if he encountered any heavy rain during his trip, and I'm not sure if he took the pics while driving or having stopped. Maybe I should have asked. Anyway, with his permission I added various goodies to the scenes, this one an automobile, airliner, and birds, all downloaded from the Internet. So all I did was create a composition. A ZOOM would be cool.

How about keeping a proper distance from the car? ;-D But this is well done with birds and car added. Glad I am not out driving in that weather :)

oh yes, I definitely saw these as they went up, Harry, and I've enjoyed them immensely. I just couldn't get to nearly all the shots I wanted to in one session (yesterday), so I left these out (along with a bunch of others). I'll return to your gallery more, while I'm here, for sure. The shot, above, is deliciously dark and ominous---as much a Midwestern shot as a true Western shot---you see these flat vistas and stormy skies many times in the Midwest. (And it ain't fun, lemme tell ya. About 10 minutes later, all hell drops out of the sky. It's stunning.) But you added the perfect touch with that old 50's Chevy. (I assume that's from the 50's.) And the blue, with the eerie neon red outlines around the yellow, make it a perfect retro sight on this bleak devastated landscape. And the plane and birds add an ominous touch, 'passing through' while this massive storm seems to be brewing. A true-to-the-landscape manipulation, very well done. And kudos to your nephew for capturing the feel of impending doom over a long flat landscape.
