Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

There were some of us who've been waiting for a series like this for a long time. I was sorry I was offline so much when you started it. But I've seen everyone---I took off from whatever I was doing, the minute each one went up. (I saw everything else too, but the Inktober pieces stopped me even in a store---because it's your drawing!) I love every one of these...This is marvelous, for the little open-faced creature peeking out, on the bottom. And he's contrasted with those intense striations in the leaves, all massed together as they are. Almost a headdress. And that's the whole piece. I'll be sad when you reach 31. (In November, lol---I saw that you want to finish these, even though it's November. You can do these all year round, as far as I'm concerned.) I even did a few myself---inspired by you---but they're soooooooo pitiful, I wouldn't show them. (And I don't mean they're 'cute' and I'm being overly protective: I mean, they're pitiful. My pens threatened to leave me.) Terrific. As an old ad guy said, "terrific---the whole damned bunch!"
