Description

At the beginning of September Flavia and me spent a few days at Birdoswald (Cambria) and other locations along the famous Hadrian's Wall in Cambria and Northumberland as embedded photographers in the 1st Legio Germanica, together with other Italian reenactors (about 150) playing the Romans and the Celts at the Border between England and Scotland. The event was organized by the British Heritage and was covered by the BBC. This is one of the photos (actually more than one thousand) I shot. Thanks for your kind comments.

It always seemed to me that you don't hear much about the Romans in Britain. Thanks for sharing this bit of history.

First-class historical photography. It must have been wonderful reenacting those ancient times. Great contrast between the pink sky and the uniformed figures.

That is something spectacular indeed, and my imagination here carries me to the fields of war and destruction, especially with the ominous sky as background 🏰 superb work, Sandra !
