Description

I have noooooo clue. I used whatever models came with the program, and---presto! For all my Poser fans, be merciful: I don't have a cluuuuuuue what I'm doing! Poser is---how do I say it nicely? Impossible Postworked in Photoshop. ----------------- Thank you all for your very loving and caring responses to my last upload (in August). I appreciated all of them, and I'm sorry it took this long to tell you. My sister wound up with ovarian and lung cancer, and she's finally beginning to heal. Surgery is coming, then she can rest. It's been a heavy few months, incl a few health matters of my own. I'm not back for good, unfortunately...just for a week to visit all of you. I won't be able to do my usual 'marathon' sessions, only because I haven't the time. (I love doing them, mind you, I just can't make the time yet.) But I've seen every one of your images, and read every description; and I know some of you have been through very tough times. I'll be visiting you all soon. Finally: The Chicago Cubs got into the World Series. Now, for those of you who don't give a fig about baseball, I'll put put it this way: The Cubs were synonymous with losing. I mean since the early 12th Century---Black-Hole losing: that kind of losing. And they just got into the World Series, which is like the World Cup. So, basically: Either the world is gonna come to an end, or something great might happen! I hope the latter---esp for those of you who deserve it. Go out and dance in the streets. It defies several billion years of evolution... Thanks for your love and kindness, I'll try to repay it this week... Have a great week, all! M (It's a little better zoomed...) ----------------------------------------------------------------

First of all many many many good wishes for the health of your sister which is the most important thing. I really like the clean and simple style of this series. I think it has a great communicative power.

Do they still play the blues in Chicago When baseball season rolls around When the snow melts away, Do the Cubbies still play In their ivy-covered burial ground When I was a boy they were my pride and joy But now they only bring fatigue To the home of the brave The land of the free And the doormat of the National League ~ "A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request"

Somewhere Steve Goodman is smiling.

The Dodgers are my team but just this once I was rooting for Chicago (1908? Seriously?)

And great news about your sister. She's fighting long odds but it sounds like she is holding her own. I send all the good wishes I can muster for a positive outcome.

As for Poser, it works the same way as getting to Carnegie Hall. Practice, practice, practice.

this is actually a fun series of images... kinda like a make-your-own-story set up. I'm praying for your sister and you, for strength and peace and health. try to take one thing at a time or it gets too much to handle. congratulations on the Cubs!

Very interesting subject matter in these very early attempts, Mark. Did you purchase it or is this a trial program? Poser seems impossible to deal with at first, but, after spending extensive time, practice and research on it, it becomes a pleasure to work with. Remember that the Wright Brothers had to overcome various obstacles on their way to developing a viable flying machine. Anyway, happy to read that your sister has battled back against her serious illnesses, and that you were finally able to post something on RR after all of these months.

So great to see a post from you, Mark. You and your sister have sure been in my thoughts and I do wish you both much healing. I really enjoyed your Poser firsts. They made me smile, as I think many of us have some crazy renders and as they say, you never forget your first. Mine are hidden somewhere on my drive, hopefully away from any potential blackmailers. You are a brave man for sharing these and they really are hilarious. Kudos to you for venturing into the impossible Poser world.Take care and be well, my friend.

HEEEEY! Good to see something from you, Mark!!

Hehe - you should see MY first attempts with Poser.... They never made it here! LOL Sheesh..... That was Poser 8 and 2009...

It just takes time, and a lot of playing.... I'm in the process of learning how to do things in DAZ, so I know where you're coming from!

Lots of prayers coming your way for you and your sis. Good to hear that she's on the mend. Hope you can come back in full when the time is right. You are missed, my friend!!

It's been a long dry spell for the Cubs! Glad they made it!

Hi Mark, it's good to read you again, and to enjoy your unique creations. What a sense of humor expressed in these fantastic images. It comes all right with you, if you just press all kinds of buttons ;-). I think that each time you press a button, you made a goal, isn't it? Don't feel obliged to write/comment, I hope that you, and of course your sister will go in an upward spiral, and will completely recover from any discomfort, or otherwise. WOW, I can watch this for hours!!! 😁

I love these!! They're fresh, refreshing, clever, and funny. I tried Poser back in 2006 when I first started fiddling around with computer art, and found BLENDER easier to use than Poser!! My first attempts at Poser didn't yield ANY results, so I'm impressed as all get-out with yours. :) They have your special touch of whimsy, and they're an absolute delight. :)

Poser? You are light years ahead of me...I marvel at RodS's work but that's as far as I get. Whimsical and delightful. Your imagination revealed in yet another form.

Glad to hear things are looking up for your sister...lots of weight on both of you for a long time.

Alright then, let's see what's going on here ?

Frame: #1, my guess it's a cool way of getting the laundry to dry faster, just not quite sure, what this particular item is, that's supposed to dry ? perhaps half of an anorak, or a thick hoodie, or pants - maybe even a standby air sock at the local LAX-ITY airport ?

Frame: #2, looks like this guy is just too heavy and not quiet ready for takeoff from that airport ? heaven knows what he is carrying in his pockets ? maybe he was trying a shortcut and avoiding a security scan - they will never learn, will they ?

Frame: #3, finally one passenger appears to have made it home from the LAX-ITY airport and has been greeted by the family dog 'Buster' and he doesn't care, that he's got nothing left to wear (showing up in the PINK) because, as usual his luggage had been lost, once again... sign of the times folks !

On a more serious note, or not 🤣 I found your first and only stab at Poser quite funny - way to go Mark, you given me something to smile about - your humour (English spelling !) is priceless and I hope you don't mind my interpretation of it ? and in regards to all those health issues, within your family - you already know my thoughts and good wishes, take care.

I have no idea how Poser works but I do know you GOT it!! I love them all, but of course have a fave and that would be the middle one, or well the first one's pretty good too and the last one ticked my funny bone so I guess I don't have a fave; they're all just so creative, simple and wonderfully done.

Your sister has been through so much; she must be a very strong person. I wish her the best and hope a much better year for you. And for you too; I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you.
