Description
About a week ago, Andrea (durleybeachbum) posted a self-portrait of herself & I mentioned that it reminded me of a photo I took of a friend a long time ago. This is that photo, taken in 1968 if memory serves me well, which is of my friend & college roommate. I scanned it from an 8x10 print of a 35mm photo that I developed in my own darkroom at the time & did some very minor tweaking in Photoshop.
The late 1960's were an interesting & exciting time to be coming of age, but I will not go into any further detail to protect the innocent (& guilty). I will say that he has gone on to a very successful & distinguished career & is now a professor & department head at a very well-respected east coast university. Sadly, we have mostly lost touch, though I do hear from him very occasionally...

He looks like my kind of guy! My art school was full of lads like this, it's a shame I didn't marry one of them. It's a bit late now..... This is a great portrait, I feel I can tell what sort of character he has.

Bet he'd love to see this photo now. He has a dreamy look behind those shades. Life does quite a job on changing appearance and sometimes outlook and even attitude. Becoming successful and distinguished leads to lots of weighty responsibilities...
