BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

It's still an awesome image...and at least a ten star render! I have fun with photoshopping fire. :D
lwperkins
You are so darn good with it! Practice makes you perfect :D Thank you too!

Love her fire fx and her black snake. Pov and props are super my friend. And you did a kick azz job on her outfit flow, Lynn.
lwperkins
Thanks so much! That snake tex is from Ignis Serpentus over at the D :D It makes the Python look really nice!

Fire on the fingertips... hmmmm... can't say that's ever happened to me before... well maybe, but I can't tell you any of the details. That structure prop is pretty cool and that glistening hot desert sweat all over her body is pretty erotic, or did I just make that up... it's your image, it's my imagination.
lwperkins
She is all sparkly! And in one version she has a cat head :o I bet if you think hard at least one of your girls was so hot she was on fire :D Thank you too!
Faemike55
I like ladies and snakes so this scene is very cool with me! Most excellent work, Lynn!

lwperkins
Thank you!! And what amazingly cute little icons--so perfect!

With fire brushes it helps sometimes if you blur the fire layer when all else is done. Copy it first if you're not sure. Also using the "Lighten" blend mode on a copy of the fire layer with a wider blur often helps too.
And I think you're right, that snake ought to leave if he has any hostile intent...
lwperkins
I'll give that a try, because it would sure help the "spark" effect at the top--right now it looks a bit like straw to me--and thank you!

Looks like she will be having snake for tea. I love Ron's brushes, I've collected a lot of them but I always forget to use them.
lwperkins
For a long time I had the wrong version of Photoshop so I didn't pick them up--now I am thrilled to have them, especially the water ones!
DM
Very beautiful work! Superb! :)
lwperkins
Thank you!! The link goes to the wrong product of you and Marfornos--I just can't find the Mixed Fantasy on the Rosity market and I am wondering if I bought it somewhere else--I use it a lot, though!<3

Pavement sharks! They need to make a spray for those! Or maybe tazers. In Daz you need to hide them, and they don't work at all with Daz weight mapping. Bummer really.
Oh, flames, I'm finding those are really tricky to get right. they seem to need special treatment for each image to look right. I might try adding some subtle glow via layer copy-gaussian blur. Jepe's flames (from the other place) work really well for Iray, I imagine they would for superfly too with a bit of fiddling. I'm going to pre render some in Daz for use as photoshop layers to save on scene size, they can REALLY crank up render times when you're doing lots of 'splosions.
Aww, maybe Mr Viper just wants a chin rub.
lwperkins
Well, I am not rubbing his chin! Hehe! That's a really good idea to pre-render FX and apply them later! I need to do this with some hair models too, I swear! Thank you too!
DukeNukem2005
This is a very good!
lwperkins
Thank you!
ANGELFIRE999
Beautiful work! Love that stargate thingy.
lwperkins
I like that model too--for some reason the Poser figures always look nice framed in it. For some reason that Danie and Marforno set I can't find again--I don't know if it was a Rosity or a Daz thing but it had a lot of cool stuff in it. Thank you too!
