Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Thank you very much Andrea! I love deeply what you drew! It's wonderfully drawn and not easy at all, in many ways...i know so well !!! Thank you very much for this gift! I can see the moods of this persons....and i can see YOU too! You captured the persons and also yourself:)! YOU and YOUR heart, is there:) Thank you very for your gift ! It has a great meaning to me: past year i drew persons in a nursing home with the same problems...and it was a great gift and reward to me to be able to do it and for some of them also- to those that still were able to recognize themselves- but i gave all the drawings to them or to their beloved ones. I will show here the photos soon! Is a promise:) I never did, because is not easy to me to be in the galleries as i wanted to be, so, i always wait a better time for doing this...but there is things that we shouldn't make wait, isn't?...just because we never know:) and YOUR TITTLE HAS A VERY DEEP MEANING. Thank you again for your wishes and i wish you and to all yours, the best of the very best in this winter:)
**:))))))))and as i said to Helle:) my BD is tomorrow, but this morning, at 6 am looking to the dawn coming in my backyard, through my kitchen window, i felt like if it was my Bd day... why? i really don't know....just felt! I think it was the love of those that thought of me, like you also did:) Thank you Andrea, again, for all your wishes:)

What lovely characters.

Very poignant. Excellent modeling. Your title made me think of the TV show "Waiting for God".

Very beautiful characters and expressions. It ls like being there with them.
Sad to hear your Mother had to go through the stages of Alzheimers Andrea.
It is good that you could keep yourself occupied while visiting her, some residents are left on their own because the family find it to hard to bare the changes with their parents/ partners or other loved ones go through.

Still by here Andrea... And still very moved by this drawing. I have been apart from this and much more... because so much has happened around me. Today, I opened the site out of curiosity---I hadn't done that in years---and who knows why? the page that appeared in front of me, had this drawing at first place :) So..as I believe there is always a reason for everything ...I couldn't resist to join, to tell you, that i remember you often. Thanks Andrea, once again. I miss you:)
