The ancients thought fire was alive. When you can see faces and animals in the flames its easy to believe it. Break out the marshmallows.

you really cant beat a real fire on a cold night shame in some ways we only have gas central heating , still no fire to clean out on a cold morning before you can relite it

We just invested in a electric fireplace and it is so relaxing to sit and watch the flames dance though the imitation logs.
It really is a good way to lesson the stress of a bad hair day.
