You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Oh what a beautiful tree and gorgeous Poinciana flowers ! The shrubs look awesome as well Brigitte. It must be nice to sit on the deck and take in all the beauty of the backyard ! Thanks for sharing this wonderful picture. Our Christmas is much colder but very beautiful with the outdoor lights that shine all over town. Here's wishing you and Jeff a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Wow, I'm surprised they don't call this a flame tree. What an eye catcher and you save time and money on tree decorations. Sounds like you are all set for the holidays. Wishing you a very merry Christmas, Gitte.

It's a big over-arching beauty of a tree, and the second shot shows it reaching to you, as do some of the other trees. What a beautiful area you have around your home, what beautiful landscaping, or preserving of nature (whatever you want to call it). It's really magical. And the photos have that magic too. In the top one, we see not only the sea of red, but all those buds ready to let go, with all the leaves behind it. It's almost a jungle in there. In the bottom photo, you did something to the photo to bring out the lights, and they speckle like fireflies or magic lights. The place feels enchanted. Midsummer Night's Dream. And I like the clearing on the left, how it opens-up this reaching-jungle. (In reality, those trees may not take up a lot of space---I don't know---but in the pic, it feels like you live on the edge of a jungle!)
Beautifully done as always, Brigitte, and I wish you as well a blessed and wonderful holiday season. Hope your Christmas was blessed, and I hope your New Year will be as well. Even people who don't have any connection to the season have the Solstice, since it's something every living creature is effected by. And whether it's the longest day of the year (sun-wise) or the shortest, it's a day when the sun is at its extreme, and that alone is reason to celebrate. It's auspicious. And, for those of us in the north, there's something poetic about Christmas falling on the longest and brightest day, because it's the longest brightest day! Thank you for your comment and for always stopping by my gallery whenever I show up (which isn't very often as you can see), and for your energy and spirit and love here, each time you come to RR, both in your amazingly vital uploads and in your comments. Thanks for all of it. Have a wonderful holiday!!!

Brigitte, your composition seems like something out of a fairy tale story! How absolutely gorgeous is this tree with the flowers! I really like the way you have juxtaposed these images so that we can take a closer look at the intricate details from within!
