Description

https://youtu.be/eWXRintPmGQ Well I got my computer back after spending another 2 grand on it. It now has a Quatro P5000 video card, which I got after nVidia informed me that none of their current GTX card support Iray. However after getting my new card which supports Iray I found that DAZ Studio 4.9 was not using the card. Daz informed me I would have to download their Beta version of the 4.9 for the Quatro card to work. So i got the Beta version and saw it now was putting a load on the card, but there was absolutely no increase in speed. The render here was in ultra quality and took 11.5 hours to render using both the card and cpu. Went back to DAZ and was informed they do not even have a Pascal chip video card. Then they try to give me the runaround about their being to many Video card manufactures out there which rings hollow since Iray is a nVidia program and Iray is the default render mode on their program.

I rewrote that song years ago, "welcome to McDonald's it gets worse here everyday, you have work like an animal just to get your daily pay" and so on. Good work, Rick. Welcome back. Hope you get those issues ironed out.

Yeah, I'm thinking everybody dropped the ball with Iray. Oh well, it was a good renderer while it lasted.

Aw I should start it to see your entries from this one the number 1. I'm glad your back before 2017. Your artwork is pretty. Clear and sharp but 11 hrs to render. Wao. I'm starting to learn Daz again but I still like poser better.

I like having both--I'm more comfortable in Poser but I do like G3 and some of the features in DS..but I wouldn't have the patience for an 11 hour render OMG. On the other hand that is a lot of leaves and hair, and it looks good!

This is a really great looking render, Rick! Good to see you back, buddy!

Well, that's a bummer about spending all that money and still not getting decent performance. Hopefully DAZ and Nvidea will get their music on the same page... 11 hours.... Arg!

I pretty much just use DAZ for pinups or figures I'm going to drop into a photo. Sometimes I'll include an environment which cranks up the render time. For anything complex (like T.N.A. pages) it's Poser Pro 2014.
