Description

A very unexpected museum waits at the opposite end of Manhattan in Fort Tryon Park. http://www.metmuseum.org/visit/met-cloisters It was fairly drizzly and the museum is at the top of a hill. In short, we were damp when we got there. IMO the hike was worth it (if you like this sort of thing). The main attraction was the unicorn tapestries. Mrs. W. did some kits of "the Lady and the Unicorn" and I thought she'd like to see the original. Some disappointment though; this is a different unicorn series but still magnificent craftsmanship and no disappointment. The other attractions are also worth the visit. The biggest attraction is the building itself. It contains several cloisters; this one is enclosed but others are open to the elements. Pictures replace thousands of words, so I'll shut up for now. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
