I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

This is a great capture - it is a bit artsy but functional artsy

A most interesting and unusual shot! How did you get under the bridge in order to take this photo? Rather amazing. Keep up the good work. This is fascinating! :-)

I love the architectural style and perspective

I really like this shot, because of the symmetry, but also because of the houses in the distance :)

I can imagine what you mean about the architecture! this perspective shows a special view onto bridge and town 😊

I've always been fascinated by what a river might look like without the water. I mean....I would love to see this bone dry!!!!! Our famous river here is The Yarra. During a hot spell a few years ago, it almost dried up. I had imagined I would see an inner city river with dead bodies, old cars etc at the bottom....but all I saw was perfect clean sand!

Beautifully bisected capture, Carin. About as close to being a kaleidoscopic shot without being a kaleidoscopic shot. And, I thought at first glance that this was the undercarriage of an airliner that had just landed at Heathrow.

A very interesting and intriguing scene....

You seem to be magnetically drawn to the same spots, did you get goose-flesh standing where I have stood LOL! I must find some of those images, and repost them. I did exactly the same shot here, so did Dee hehe!

well it's artsy, but it's wonderful photography too. You got a luminous glow in the elements which join the bridge to the concrete abutment (in the water): It glows like there's some force inside it. And the nearly bleached sky makes a wonderful contrast to the deep dark shadows of the under-bridge. As does the nearly level skyline (something you don't see alot of on Chicago's waterfront). A really fine longitudinal shot, with wonderful light at the point where bridge meets concrete.
