I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Now this is my sort of anchor! Authentic English fish and chips and a pint. The building looks like it is from at least the 19th century.

The red windows are looking strange against the dark bricks, cool capture and a pity that you didnt get fish and chips 🙄

Anchors aweigh, mates. This photo is really crammed with splendid atmosphere, color, patterns and texture. By patrons do you mean club members of the watering hole?

Correct Harry - they wouldn't allow us in for fish and chips!

Dee and I tied a few on in this place, back then the window frames were green, I agree the red is great, we sat on the prom by the river that is just out of shot here to the left. Great shooting my friend. BTW, when I originally was going to be your guide around London, I could have took you to great eating houses, near where I lived, excellent fish and chip shop just about 600 yards from my old house in Bermondsey!

Strong contrasts between the saturated reds and those typically fire-red bricks and gray bricks, etc. And an angle which brings out the street. Again, your sky is strong contrast, in its stark white---which is strong because the facade is very dark (but for the reds, and those signs). The people add a real rhythm to the shot.
Zoomed, this is really engaging, Carin. You do such consistently thoughtful work, it makes me aware of all I have to learn, with the camera. A very engaging shot.
