Description
Sorry for not getting to comment musically to your posts, I am trying to see id Ocatane will work with my P5000 video card. Of course like most they do not have any tech support. I bought Reality and had some problems and I e -mailed them repeatedly and never got a response. I assume the guy is really busy, sick or dead. Anyway octane can only be reached via there forums, which so far has been not helpful. I did get a couple of replies but the guy did not even read my post or like Poser give you a form letter response the first time.Anyway none of the Pascal cards are listed on there usable cards. I do not know if it is because they do not work or if their website has yet to be updated. As they suggested I downloaded the DAZ plug in and the program saw my card and did generate a preview, but all save functions I found out are disabled on the Demo version, despite the size and watermark restrictions which to me makes no sense. When I press the final button on their render page all I get is a render of the watermark which of course take just 2 seconds, so I still do not know if it works or not. The stupid person did not read my original question but did state the 1080 card would work with the Octane which give me hope that it will work otherwise I will have to spend thousand on another program. I guess I will ask you guys for help at that time. I am currently on the downside of my bipolar cycle and since no pyychs around here will take Medicare, I have no drugs for it anymore, and it is hard to get motivated to even get out of bed much less look at all your great artwork.

hey bro happy new year and all the best to you.

I have severe chronic depression and my down cycles really suck rocks, so I have an idea of what you're going through. It's not fun.
From what I understand Iray has finally updated to accommodate pascal, so the nvidia 10XX series cards now work with it. Daz has also updated to the new version of Iray, so you might give that a try.
I'm not sure what is going on with Reality now that RDNA is history, that was his main forum for it. He seems to have dropped off the planet after RDNA went belly up. Kind of like the Garabaldi hair plugin for Daz, great promise, then poof the developer bailed.

I've discovered i'm bipolar too. The one where the the cycles are very fast. I hope you get better soon. It's horrible. This render it's beautiful. I don't understand why you're having so much trouble with your artwork it just I see your art its so sharp. For me I do not go with so much trouble. I use firefly in poser and it's fast. I don't want to force my machine. I always wanted to have octane it's awesome. Reality I have it for poser and Daz too. But I did not like it much because of my hardware. I wish things work out for you. <3.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend! I do hope that you can get what you need - for the Bi Polar and the computer
great image here

Looks like the band has gone on break. I doubt she will be alone for long. Excellent Job!

I use the Octane render plugin for Poser. Make sure when you're rendering something out, you click the "setup" button and then check the box that says "Allowed scaled poser cameras". It might be the same way for DAZ, and thus might be why it's only rendering out a small box with their logo. In addition to that, in the image size area of the Octane plugin, you have to type in the image size of your render (whatever your render size is set up to be in DAZ or Poser, whichever you are using). Or else it will default to something very small.

Super cool render and scene ! ! ! I really like all of the elements, especially the Strat and acoustic hanging on the back wall. I can't determine if she's talking to someone or picking a little air guitar, in her reclined position. Really nice work. Good luck with you health and tech problems.

Lovely image! Very well done!

Well, despite all the hassles, you've punched out a magnificent render here, Rick! This is dynamite!
I've never messed with Octane - I have played a little with Reality, but never really had the time to dig into it very much Maybe after I chuck the day job.....
Yeah, trying to get any kind of support from pretty much any entity these days is like trying to shove a corncob up a wildcat's butt. I don't know why businesses even have email addresses - no one ever responds. Unless you're ready to drop a sizeable chunk of change - then they're all over it. But after they have your money... you don't exist.
Hope you get to feeling better, brother,,, Hang in there!

hang on in there. I stopped doing renders because of the frustrations and I kind of miss it... don't be like me, keep trying and keep trying to keep it fun. I like your images.

What GrandmaT said; hope the band comes back soon. Superb lighting and texturing. I'm actually more familiar with Donny Osmond's version of this song, which I must say is a very sad song.
Didn't know you haven't been well. Hope you get well soon. Have you tried nVidia Iray for your renders?
