I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

NOT #10 Downing Street, but it could well be! Nice photo of a simple door but the colors sure make this a beauty of a photograph! :-)

of all of the hundreds of doors I have painted none were yellow. looks nice however. great capture. in my home town there was a building in a rundown area that had a green door. I heard from several that it had a certain reputation. I never ventured to try

Fabulous! My front door is yellow too.

Yellow is psychologically the happiest of all the colors on the spectrum wheel, and thus is a perfect welcoming hue for the front door of a home. It evokes mental clarity, cheerfulness, wisdom, confidence, and merriment, and carries the promise of the promise of a positive future. The color of sunshine, yellow invokes warm, pleasant feelings, and attracts attention in a positive manner.

Very nice capture.
I also like the two pillars to the left and right of the door.

Well no one is going to overlook this address especially with the two frowning beasties at the top of the pillars. A nice capture.

Amazing find and capture Andrea. God bless.

Although the yellow doesn't suggest anything Christassey, a sterling kaleidoscopic shot of something most pretty and simple.

wonderful geometry! I always say that a fine photographer will be able to capture a simple door or window and make it sing. Perfect crop, perfect proportions, and the stark deep yellow is wonderful inside that white and then the multi-red bricks. Framed perfectly, the top "x"s with the black 'inside' is perfect foil for the door. I love shots of facade elements; this is a terrific shot.
