Description

Just a scene from Brighton Beach, UK. I liked the bright colored hut and old boat as a foreground!

Superb photo! It is so sad to see the death of West Pier.

So you've been in Brighton, too. Now I get to see what's left of the pier I used to walk on (1969-70). Sad. Nice photo of the rest.

Wonderful shot - it's too bad that someone could fix that pier.

so many piers disappeared along the Gulf coast when Katrina blew through.

I like the bright colors also and the skeleton of an old pier

Stellar composition in this shot of what looks like desolation, Carin. Glad someone mentioned a pier, otherwise I would never have guessed what that skeletal structure is out in the ocean.

Ag, Hun, I've been here so seldom lately! I just went through your gallery and saw all the wonderful pics you've posted of the bridges and your London scenes. What a joy to see your work! You make me feel like I was there. Love the pebble beach!

Excellent composition leading the eye directly to the pier and man. It really does have a desolate feel to it.

I'd been a couple of times to Brighton, famous then for its amusements and pier. The excellent capture you've taken here shows a totally different atmosphere, ever more so nostagic and poetical .

a stark and almost abstract capture of the beauty of a more abandoned portion of a beach...I don't know the history here, though some above do, and it sounds painful. But your shot focusses on a few things, and they have clarity and great presence, with lots of space around them. And the contrast of hues is beautiful too. A very sensitive shot of a 'moment' in the vastness of an everyday beach...your usual sensitive eye hasn't waned a bit in your absence...

Like the composition Carin. Pity of the pier burning down as Andrew showed in his upload. Outstanding photography. God bless.

I remember the news on the fire, I like your shot sweets, it is a stark reminder that out of disaster, the new can be beautiful.
