Description

During the long march home after their defeat in the west, the Dark Army camped at Amon Mithell. Supplies were short, the generals had not bargained on the journey back, having been assured of the spoils and loot of victory. It was decided to do away with the battle trolls during the night, since they consumed the most and would be of little use to the command in the east. Their broth was poisoned and brought before their company. However, the Captain of the Battle Trolls, Erech Hummvial, was alerted to the generals' plan by a lowly slave goblin, faithful to his trollish master. Erech turned his trolls on the camp, and thus began the Slaughter of Amon Mithell, and the final ruination of the Dark Army. And the mounds of carrion were high indeed. The orc is my new character for mike, Ragbash the troll and his battlepack also by me (available MP) Rendered in Poser, postwork in PS (I'm expecting comments of "I'm crushing your head" from canadians, or other "Kids in the Hall" fans... ;)

Very cool, It's great to see a group scene done well. Love the color and composition, I get a slight Frazetta feel from the movement and color. Now I'm gonna nitpick and these are nits. The hand in the foreground seems a little smooth, since it's so close to the camera I love to see more detail. Also his nails are awful nice for an orc. Just stopped back from the manicurist ;-). The two figures on the left seem posed too similar to me. Maybe if one of them was reeling from the swing of the troll? Be a chance to add more of the blur which I think would add drama to the piece. Love the rain, but everyone seem dry. Some wet skin and raindrops hitting the orcs and troll would be cool. Like I said just nits....Over all a wonderful piece.....IMHO...Jon
