Now I think this is monumental. I thought it the minute I saw it (I saw it, like, 10 minutes after you posted it, and I almost dropped all my work to say that.) Like big sheets of tree-dom cascading down a trunk. Great closeup, and lots of drama. And the whiter I-don't-know-what-it-is---those 'cloud-like', feather-like growths, all over the bark---they are wonderful staccato rhythms across this cascading facade. Love the browns, too, as they cross the trunk on a diagonal. Big, big capture, sirrah! Monumentality in a small segment of life...

(is that feathery stuff the lichen? I thought it was the greener stuff...well no matter, it's a wonderful rhythmic capture either way...)
