I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I should hate to have to work in that! Great photo, though.

The clash of modernity & tradition - you've captured it very effectively in this image, Carin...

I usually like modern buildings, but I too hate this one!

Good heavens! That is the tallest metronome I ever did see! A multitude of geometric patterns in this one for sure, and I like the varied colors throughout. but what a somber environment. Didn't the sun shine at all when you were there?

Oh, my. What if a window at the top breaks? Crash, crash, crash all the way down! Interesting photo. Reminds me of the TransAmerica building in San Francisco. Keep up the good work. Nice with all these interesting London photos. :-)

strong contrasts of old and new, glass and brick, and muted glass tones with reds and bright whites in the brick structures. Big cities create such abstract juxtapositions, don't they...You brought out the whites here brilliantly. And the dull green tint of the front-most structure is such a contrast. I also like the front people in near-black. A real modern city capture, with the hues and contrasts so typical of urban 'collision'---esp in an old city like London.
