Description
Taken in Jacksonville. This simple house was built in 1880. Many houses in town are even older & were built in the 1850's. I know these must seem positively modern by European standards, but they seem old to us...

I love the texture of the wood and all the gradations of color. I've been having a wonderful time perusing your gallery. So much terrific stuff!

I love this! It looks like a jigsaw puzzle from years ago. The colors and textures are terrific. The house and surroundings are very neat and well cared for.

Very pretty, but with a surprising lack of windows!

Yes, as a house, it's not exactly window-filled. As a photo, it's another splendid piece. More of your highly articulate facade photography, of which you have first rate example after the next, here. The symmetric pov doesn't create any problems of sameness, etc; rather, it gives a frame for the wonderful detail and golden glow of this shot. Love the light and glow in the wood. Love the crop that cuts the roof off up there. Love the yellow hues of the bushes and grass (matching the yellows of the house). And the play of horizontals and verticals in this facade. It's clear, sharp and glowing. Terrific facade photography.
