Description

A scene I took many photos of, one of which is in my gallery. This one is larger, with more light... After seeing Carin's exemplary, moody and beautiful fog shot (here), I looked to see if I had any worth posting. This doesn't have the wonderful clarity and sensitivity of hers, but it's how my skyline looks when in fog... (There's also a beautiful shot by Marilyn, here, which is more of a majestic sweep. 2 great fog shots in one weekend...) Thanks for all your visits and have a fine evening Mark (Please zoom, it's large...) ----------------

I never thought of a Lake Michigan fog over Chicago, if that is what your spooky image wishes to imply, but this depicts a lovely, comforting mist enveloping the shoreline and your cherished city, Mark. A nice subtle contrast on display between the fog and the ebon edifices. Just for that, I'm going to hunt down some fog shots of my own.

This shot should be in a top photography mag, Mark. Brilliant TOD capture. The mood with the color tone and fog are grasping. 1000 stars.

Fog seems to be a popular subject lately. I like the broad sweeps of color in this one...

the fog creeps in, silently, stealthily. Winding its cold tendrils are the hearts and minds of the people of the city. noises get muffled, like a scarf over the face of the city. Young people brave the fog, thinking the night is theirs. But the fog hides secrets, dark, deep secrets that the parents shudder to think about. For what lurks in the fog? Death, perhaps? Danger for sure as some of the wicked use the fog for their own designs, bravely tramping down their own fears of the stories they've heard, whispered in dark corners. Streetlights that use to give a warm glow are now muted to give a sense of being - elsewhere, not of this world. The fog is relentless and patient. It will find its victim...

There's a quote about fog that speaks of it walking softly on little feet, I think. This kinda has that quality, just drifting over the city. Fog has such a mystical quality, everything becomes quiet and muted. I love this!!

Foggy environments lend themselves well to the softening you like to do (and which I enjoy SO much!), regardless of whether you actually DID it or not. :) This has a Mark look about it, and the enhanced color makes it pop. I can see why you're getting "whoa" and "wow" and "whatnot." It's beautiful! That lovely cyan shading is just yummy.

I don't really know why, but I absolutely LOVE a good foggy evening. I'm weird that way. It makes me feel all warm and cozy rather than apprehensive as it does with some people. Well, as long as I'm safe inside, anyway.. LOL

This is a lovely, moody photo, Mark. I love the diagonal balance here - it's so perfect! A beauty, my friend!

Oh Mark, this is gorgeous. I have actually seen Chicago with a fog jacket a few years back. I have uploaded the image so I should still have it. I will dig for it! Beautiful my friend - and I do love the lights shining ever so brightly despite the blanket of fog!

I loved the other two fog shots you linked. This one is really a glamour shot. The city looks so glamourous here.
