Mark - I really like the diagonal thrust of the stairs, the contrast between the dark wood of the steps & the lighter wood of the rest of the stair structure, the interplay of light & shadow on the pink wall, the leaves & how all the elements interact with each other. It's a really appealing & harmonious blend of diverse elements.
What I think detracts from the beauty of this, though, is the random clutter at the bottom. It may be that you had a reason for incorporating that & it may not bother others or they might even think it enhances the image - all perfectly valid. My own purely personal opinion though, is that this would be a much stronger image if you cropped it right above that rock on the right. If it was me, I would probably go a little lower & use patch & healing tools to clone just a bit of the stairway to extend it down also (if I'm being clear?), but that's a little more work. This is more detail than I usually go into, but you've written so many lengthy comments about my photos that I owe you that (& lots more!). And I know that you will take it in the constructive spirit in which I offer it, even if you disagree...

Another of your great finds in the city. Kind of a back alley feel, but with such wonderful contrasts. The wooden stairs, only part of which you see. Then there's the color and contrast of the stuff below. NICE one!!!

I love how the light occurs, more and more, looking left. The wood of nature against the wall. An amazing shot, I havent seen before.

I wonder what possessed the maker of the stairs to cover a window? But I like the photo very much.

Where do the stairs lead to, I wonders. I like the random clutter at the base of these steps. this is someone's private garden setting. I also like how the stones of the building go from an almost white to, what I see is a pink colour. this is a wonderful photo and like the previous photo, there are a couple of stories that exist

Very intriguing, and fascinating to look at and so interesting to study. I like the leaves lying on each step, as I love the shape of the wooden staircase with its balustrade. It is a very exciting picture, and also inspiring to make a poem of. The green-red branches gives me thoughts of Christmas.

The beauty in common things..... You are so good at capturing it - you and Tara both. You open our eyes to the beauty that surrounds us every day - the fascinating things we're far to busy to notice. I look so forward to the time when I'll have time to open my eyes and see. You and Tara - and a few others - will be my guides....

I'm so glad I got here late! It's interesting to read what other people think about a photograph. Everyone's sensibilities are a bit different, and I'm always fascinated to see other comments. This reminds me of a picture I took while we were in Maine. Maybe I'll get my poo together and work it up to post. I think you and I must have seen the same thing in our different wooden stairs!

Beautiful work ! Love the colors.

I can now see why Tara felt inspired by this image! The lines and angles, light and shadows make for a wonderful image. Add in the golden reflection of sun in the glass and the pops of yellow and green leaves that just frame the top of the image, and we have a winner. Well done my friend!

Besides the lush loverly colors and atmosphere, there are the marvelous textures, especially on the brick wall, Mark.
