Description

This was taken one day just after sunset - around 4pm. I loved the pastel hues. I am standing on Waterloo Bridge and the next bridge in view is the Black Friars Railway Bridge. The skyline from left to right are St Paul's Cathedral, some high rises, the "Guerkin" building just showing, the "Cheese Grater" building, a couple more buildings and the on the far right the "Walkie Talkie" building...

Beautiful - I love the gradations of color tones in the sky too. Also, the nicknames of the buildings...

The buildings are very heteroclyte, and we can see a lot of cranes on the right of this image. Superb view and capture in the sunset, Carin!

Beautiful gradations, beautiful low sun with all its pinks and reds. And the skyline is a series of 'beings' reaching out to be seen. The composition gives us an old dome on the left and a modern geometric structure on the right (St. Paul's and the 'Walkie Talkie'). You got a real array in this sweep...A beautiful moody low sun shot, with an amazing array of architecture all under 'one roof'...

Great capture Carin, fantastic light. Blue sky and a sunset, you were lucky. I remember London before all these buildings were there. There were just Westminster Abbey, the Parliament Building and Big Ben, yes St. Paul's Cathedral and a few other historical buildings, but nothing like I see in your capture. When I left Germany in 1960 we went up the Themes right into London, but we didn't see much that day because of dense fog and pollution.

Virtually a silhouette in this sharp image of the London skyline with its various lines and shapes, Carin. That edifice at the right looks warped as in a fisheye foto.
