I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Very nice capture Carin.
I'm sorry for you that the weather conditions were not ideal.

Fantastic fog shot - perfect atmosphere for the mysteries of Stonehenge. Usually not a fan of tourists in photos, but they work very well here, helping to give scale & a human touch...

and through the fog it looks very mystical! and you think in sunlight it is nice also? be curious 😀

You have caught the atmosphere of Stonehenge perfectly.

WOW! It looks so....Originally... Is that really the right word for looking like the day it was built? Like looking back in time. I really love this shot, Carin.

Your right, the fog really adds to this great shot!!! It contributes to mystery and eerie feeling of this place!! Very well done!!!!

In this case, the fog is your friend and it shows

Wow, incredible view

another beautiful fog shot, Carin, the proportions are just right, the horizon is dotted with those people---I'm with Claude on what they add---and, oddly, from this distance it's like you knew how to 'dress' them ( I know you didn't, but their clothes seem almost like gowns from over here, adding to the sense of wanderers through time...). And the structure in that fog whispers across the ages. You do fog beautifully, and this is a modern/ageless shot of this wholly mysterious monument. You bring consistent class, beauty, balance and depth to us without stop. Beautiful piece.

Wonderful capture Carin. God bless.

As incredible as Stonehenge is, the fog adds even more intensity and drama. On my bucket list for sure!!

Great capture Carin. I have been there before, and at first glance it didn't look too impressive to me. But we had talked about it in Astronomy class, so I was somewhat familiar with some of the functions and reasons it was built. Once we went around, and looked at the various stone formations up close, found out where the stones used were mined and how they were transported to the site, who actually started building this site, and when, it became very interesting and intriguing. It was built so long ago, that to be able to make some of the celestial predictions, the climate in Britain had to have been different.. never mind about the Druids.

excellent photography and eerie

Amazing, Carin, what a fantastic, historical photo this has become. Of course because of the mist, but also by the people walking there as if they are dressed in clothes from a very past. A most glorious sight it is, dear friend. (btw, I just come from "Mittenwald" (Sig's photo) and saw you were there too, so exiting to know , unfortunately you were there before us, LOL )

An impressive shot with a big scoop of mystery. I can imagine the feeling of awe the ancient Druids must have felt as they approached this in the fog.

It seems like forever, since I visited these huge monuments in 2014... and it was an experience, like no other... actually I'm so glad for you (and a wee bit jealous), we didn't have a foggy morning - because I really love this atmospheric condition, perfect for a brilliant photo opportunity, you couldn't have asked for more, what a stroke of luck Carin.

The fog totally makes the shot. What a gorgeous photograph!
