A lunar setting, steep hills, a rather arid zone for the greenery to resemble lichen! A good picture of a desolate region!!!

For sure! Looks like Skull Mountain with a big craggly mouth open wide dead center. I don't know if that's a shadow or what. I think so. Very cool. Spectacular shot, Richard!

YES! That's the view I remember well - the 'V' in the upper right is (or was) called "The Window" and is a breathtaking view! Fantastic photo, Richard!

I'll have to look through my files... I think I have one where I caught the sun right in that V formation...Back in 1969 or so..
