Exceptional work with this scene, Dee. Wonderful color scheme, wardrobe, and props.
Very thought-provoking article. And I happen to agree with you. I honestly admire Prince Harry even though I'm grateful that George Washington and company kicked their royal butts out of the USA over two hundred years ago.
Here in the US, we sign up for Selective Service at the time of our eighteenth birthday. This means we are available to be drafted. And at this point in history, IMHO, if it comes to that? Final doom is upon us anyway. But I also understand how a stint in the peace time military could be beneficial because in my opinion prisons are overflowing products of the failure of family structure.

Hope ya' have a great weekend!

The arguments against national service are powerful (I scanned the article, and have seen similar ones for this country and others). Yet your image has great beauty in it. This could be a soldier saying goodbye, but it could also be a soldier coming home. Either way it's tinged with the sadness of departure, and the relief of return; and it makes your point poignantly. The wisteria is a beautiful curtain to the couple, and the background seems pastoral and very peaceful (in contrast to battle). And a wonderful rendering of the couple, with the woman held high in the air, in those wonderful purples set off by his eye-popping white. (He seems so pure, set off by all the blues and purples in this image. You've cast him in a shining light.) A beautiful image. With the way the world is going right now, I hope there won't be need for required military service. Yet with the present bunch of leaders (ours in particular), it's ominous. But i hope we never get to that point.
