I took this while the Galveston ferry was waiting for this ship to pass and as well a huge petroleum tanker. a nephew is permanently assigned to cruising around Hawaii. he really has a great job, but loads of responsibilities

No thanks...........I was a marine engineer for years including tankers and passenger liners........I'll never walk up a gangway unless somebody pays me a bucketful of bucks :).........used to sail past Galveston to Houston from Europe an a container ship years ago.

Those ships are truly massive. I saw one in Florida when I was there in 2010 - I thought it was a huge building until we got closer, and I realized it was a Carnival cruise ship.
