I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Amazing buildings and we never quite know, why they were built.

Great capture!

Fantastic shot Carin. That really shows the scale. These rocks came from some distance away and were moved to this location. What a feat for that time. Just adds to the myth of Stonehenge!

Excellent composition in this striking pic of those huge rocks, Carin. Speculation has it that the Stonehenge site was some kind of astronomical formation. And, yes, how did the druids lift and transport those big suckers across the countryside? As much a mystery as to how the Egyptian pyramids were built.

Another striking 'pose' (!) Carin, by those huge boulders, mind-boggling ! (makes me want to post my pix now, we'll see)...

What an amazing POV here, Carin, I would never thought it is that big there. Your photo really is so impressing to me.

There's a replica of Stonehenge ... or rather a replica of what they believe it looked like when it was new ... in Washington State, down on the Columbia River. I could NOT keep away from those gaps! Every single one was yet another perfect shot. This is great!

A very spectacular shot! I was in UK last year, but I only visited London and Southampton...
