Description

After attending the orchid show at the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California, I visited the Chinese Garden section and captured this stunning view, way back on 10/18/09. Most pagodas are multitier structures, but all of them at the Garden were simple one story models. And, the surrounding rocks are known as Taihu style rocks, which resemble Swiss cheese in structure, and imported from China. More on that anon.

Chinese architecture is amazing. Just look at that roof, wow! Nice job with the lighting and sharpness

The clarity here is eye popping. As are the contrasts of whites with those deep darks. Fine angle too. The roof---with fine detail---somehow ties the picture together. And you cropped this beautifully too, and framed it in just the right place. The reddish browns in the pagoda underside make a sweet dialogue with your bamboo frame. A beautiful shot.
