I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

You give us the feeling that you were there alone in all the world. How marvelous! I mean ... I see the people, but they aren't standing around the front in red jackets waving their arms and yelling. This is a terrific shot!

Very cool...and a very nice 're-build'!!!!

You've wonderfully captured the atmosphere of the place, it comes out so beautifully here! The light was different when I saw Stonehenge, at the end of a Springtime afternoon, but this landmark means so much to me. It is also the place where the famous novel by Thomas Hardy ' Tess of the d'Urbervilles' sadly ends ....

Wonderful shot, with minimal tourists in the far distance, as Tara mentioned. I visited there almost 50 years ago - you know, before the Griswolds backed their car up into one of the stones & they all fell like dominoes...

Great shot - the fog in the background adds just a hint of mystery to the scene

I was wondering what happened to you. And, good light and shadow, very sharp and detailed in this capture, but, how strange, Stonehenge in the sunlight looks like a bunch of toy blocks in a field, Carin.

really a great capture of this British icon. did you see the Python in South Africa that swallowed a porcupine. it fell off a ledge and died from injuries from the quills

very subtle and beautiful light in this, where the stones almost feel like they're 'soft', covered in some fabric. The tourists are way in the background, which make a delightful little reminder of their presence; but you got the stones all by themselves, and they glow mysteriously in that low intense light. Great sky too. Beautiful mysterious capture, Carin.
