I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I had to use a high ISO so the image is grainy!

Any grain is hardly noticeable in this fascinating loverly shot of the Kew Botanical Garden night display, Carin. Sharp as a tack with cool reflections. You did yourself proud on this one.

I was interrupted earlier today when I was typing a comment for this awesome light show. a bogus web page claiming to be Microsoft suddenly appeared telling the viewer to immediately call Microsoft so they could "remove" a problem. if the page was closed before they could remove it then they would terminate the connection and I would lose my files including photos. well, I did did use task manager to close my locked browser. then I called the number and waited until someone answered the phone to "remove" the thing. when they did answer claiming to be Microsoft, I spoke one noise "bbbbbrrrrrrrrbbbbb" loud enough that one of my dogs barked outside

This is a most magnificent photo, Carin, it must have been wonderful to enjoy this irl. I try to imagine the music to all those lively lights.

very vivid night shot, with booming saturated hues, and you even got a beautiful grain in the green cross lights, making this almost a graphic print as well as a photo. Fine night shooting; and the black acts like a deep blanket for the whole. I do remember the series this is part of, and it was all luminous and scintillating.
