I love this photo. It looks like a baritone sax; whatever type it is, it's big, and it winds around itself (as bari saxes do). You caught the "ganglia" feeling of a saxophone, the nexus, the place where all the gear is. The keys and their beautiful brass rods, and the name plate, and all that complexity. And above all, the sheen, the metallic sheen. It looks like he's got amplifying equipment attached to the horn (microphone pickups). This is a terrific photo, Jock, as it captures the essence of a saxophone, how complicated it is, and how it shines. You caught the 'music' of the instrument, with a piece---just a piece---of the musician: Just enough of him to tell us that there's a musician behind this shot. Terrific piece. Now onto the painting...
