Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I love it too and I am envious. I so need a bigger place for doing art and I refuse to use the sunroom, as i have to remove everything whe guests arrive. Hate the thought of that. And I love your "Mother in law´s sharp tungue", as we call it. Can we swap my lawn full of snowdrops with your studio?.... I guess not :-/ LOL!

Wonderful studio corner - I especially like the unusually tall & colorful lampshade...

Well someone seems happy in their little corner. So bright and cheery, I's spend more time here too if I had the chance.

The dancer on the windowsill is delightful! She perfect with the other tall thing things in that corner. A delightful combination of items!

love the light and dark, the bright hues, the wonderful play of forms and abstractions, and the wonderful mix of 'characters' here---love the shot. The dancer is a fine contrast (ala tara), and the animal in the pot (a bird? I don't wanna make a total ass of myself here), and the contrast of the pot rim with the deep greens, and the great lamp shade, and the mannequin, against the reds and greens of your garden...A big delight. And the tall stalks in the pot are like big flames coming up. Wonderful shot of a terrific corner. I can understand why Helle would love it---she works in a very cramped space. (So do I!) Wonderful shot, Andrea.
(well I've commented on your work almost an hour, with 12 images, I believe...a total pleasure; hopefully I'll get back before I step down again...A total delight as always, Andrea!)
