.... She will survive and thrive," Doctor Mandy assured us. "But I will continue monitoring her condition as well."
Our human nurse Friendlies let out their breathless anxiety in a mixed release of squealing euphoria and solemn teary gratitude,
then My Companion said, "Thank you. We will honor your stipulation at your will."
"Yes," I said. "Thank you. But why didn't you come if you knew? How did you know?"
"There are necessary population procedures in place even you are not aware of. She is meaningless except in her connection to
you. One life will not disrupt the design of the balance."
The Nurse Friendlies gasped at her point blank admission, then My Companion said, "One life can alter the balance."
"This is true," Doctor Mandy conceded. "She will not."
Staring it out with her to a draw, I finally asked, "How did you do it?"
"No disease is common to the whole. Every treatment must be individual specific. Our DNA banks serve us very well.
Every newborn is catalogued. Her treatment was prepared at the moment of your involvement."
DNA banks.
Population procedures.
The Tinfoil Hat Brigade had been right all along.
But none of that mattered now except in that the rabbit hole just became a black hole of unimaginable clandestine depths.
Krissy J would survive and thrive now too, of course, perhaps, as meaningless as The Good Doctor proclaimed her to be.
I would believe it when I witnessed it.
And there would be no more questions and no more answers.
She, a human, had performed a miracle we could not.
It was time for Doctor Mandy to return to The Black Hole ..... for now.

That's the one thing Pandora closed the box on. But there's still hope. Really love all the characters in one scene, James. This series gets more gripping with every installment. Wow. Just blows me away in how you come up with this.

Very nice. Glad she'll be ok. I do wonder about the price Dr. Mandy requested. And I notice your top has changed in this series. Is that just cause the other is in the laundry? This one reminds me of a series you had posted otherwhere with a faceless, masked man and a lot of armaments. I wonder if this is building towards that. I can see several of these series adding towards to it.
Great image. I love the emotions conveyed, not just in the faces but the whole body.

Why do I suspect Dr. Mandy is an Agent for the Agency? This talk of population controls and one life not affecting the whole and such. Breeders have to breed, Doctor. That's the only way we can escape this rock and not end up like the dinosaurs.

For every answer there are a million more questions...
She will live, and that's good. One still has to wonder abut Dr. Mandy's agenda....
A riveting series and very moving scene - the atmosphere seethes with emotion. Superb in every way, James! My hat's off to you (if I wore one, I mean..)

Yo James, Hope springs eternal as they say. Great set up. I'm not sure to trust Dr Mandy or not.!?Especially with that syringe! I particularly like the joy expressed in one of the nurses. She seems to embody the word YES. And I'm still wondering where that funky teddy come from :-)
Ps. this is a re-edit. A drink during the day and my concentration and comments go out the window :D
