. What is done is done. What is one compared to millions? Is one alone personal? After all, how many of your own millions have you slaughtered in your lifetime? How do you justify it? You only indirectly supported it? How could I not? Your oblivious silence? Nobody cares what I say anyway. You're frightened? You should be. Or maybe they deserved it because they're different than you. They don't think right. It's just easier to let somebody else think for you. I have my own problems. Well so do we. Minus one. This is only a condemnation of everything. Brave words from one more meaningless, insignificant, comfortable coward. "Humans will think what humans will think," My Companion opened up. "These people," she spat, "believe what they wish to believe. Truth is only an acceptable twisted perception of lies. We are prepared to give them war the likes of which they have never seen. We should exterminate them. All. Now. Before they do the same to us and render this planet uninhabitable." These emotions. .......... DEFECT DEFECT .......... She could no longer bear the burden of being cast the villain by the villains. Now she would become it or evolve beyond it. She has not endured the human experience of a lifetime of pain, sorrow, and hopelessness to prepare her for these confusing, complex feelings. We are accidents of technological evolution. We have never been and never will be you or of you. We will never coexist, share in your joy, suffer in your suffering. That's what makes a real villain, that kind of ruthless purpose that lacks compassion and understanding. Logic without mercy is ultimately cruel. Once you take the genocidal path, how do you go back from that? History shows it never happens willingly. Germany had to be broken. Japan has never faced the terrors they have committed and neither has the west faced what we have done the last few centuries. You can either dance down the path of mercy and compassion, or the path of cruel expediency, not both.
