My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Things That Make Us Go.....Hmmm. Looks like a section of rail on a very beat up table. Except there are no holes for the spikes. Hmmm.

One of your very special Photos. Beautifully done. It can be hard on such dark objects. :)

Classified by weight per yard. Interesting shot. Either a rail reinforcment for heavy freight and locomotives, or part of a switch. However, I can't figure out the rolled part at the top of the rail end. More fun train/rail photos? Keep up the good work! :-)

Wow, Tara..... I didn't know you were into Heavy Metal!
Sorry - couldn't resist!
I really do love how you home in on the wonderful details of commonplace things. This has form, texture, wonderful lines and light. Very elegant!

There is something so satisfying about the solidity and strength of this.

some people mentioned that this could be a few things, because whatever it could be, something is missing or added, etc: A mysterious but clearly Rail object. A beautiful shot. You always turn shadow into an aesthetic statement, and it plays beautifully into the striking lights here. And the deep reddish-brown tones. "Heavy Metal," as Rod says...A capture of mass, weight and 'presence'. This could be fairly small, but in the capture, it's massive. And, oddly, it looks a little like a train-car itself: I mean, if you use imagination. A strange and beautiful capture, with mystery, and big, big weight and presence. You made art out of this. (I'd think that a rail museum would offer you lots of nooks and cranny's and design elements to go crazy over. I've never been to one, of course; but I'd imagine you'd find a lot to dig into, while Bill is studying history and actual trains...)
