Description

This is my tiny workshop, where also my cat has his retrete room, where he can go in and sleep at night, if he feels like it. It is warmed up, so he wont freeze in there, because we let him out every evening. Not that the frost or rain bothers him. He sometimes comes home SOAKING wet and he knows we are ready with a dry towel to dry him with and he loves to be dried and groomed. Ok, about this Workshop. I really need to clean up in here and make space for all the mess I have in my bedroom. Here you only see the bookcase or what to call it. There is space for alot of things AND THERE IS!!! But I need to get rid of some of it, in order to have space enough for the boxes and such and the mess in the bedroom. But where to begin. SIGH! -_-

This isn't half as full as my book cases in my bedroom! Cartons with plastic models, models of buildings, tax returns, books, letters, CDs and video tapes and machines to play them, clothing, anatomic models, computer magazines, night table with my pet dinosaurs and lots of other things, wrapping paper for gifts. Oh, and did I mention somewhere there's a bed. Every morning when I wake up I'm surprised to find I'm in that bed! Thanks for the image and the funny text! Keep up the good work! :-) As you can imagine, my Kitty is NOT allowed in my bedroom. If she hides or gets lost in there, well, how do I get her out?

A very familiar sight, Helle! Good luck with the tidy up, but don't let it get in the way of your amazing creativity!

Boxes..One thing I have found is that shallow boxes help a lot...more junk fits on the shelves if it is contained within a box. For example the bottles of paint can all fit in one box tightly together without falling off the shelf. I can still see the paint and the colors, but I don't have to worry about things falling off the shelf when I reach for what I want. Some people who are super organized use plastic boxes like shoe boxes or decorative boxes, but I just cut down cardboard boxes and then I can label them easily with a marker if I want to. ...Good luck...this inspires me to get busy reorganizing all my own stuff which has fallen in to disarray (it does that so easily...sigh)

The problem I have when I try to go through something like this, is that I'll stumble onto something that triggers a memory, then I wind up putting it in the "save" pile. By the time I'm done, that "save" pile is bigger than the original mess was to begin with. I'm still trying to figure out how that works! :-D

more great responses...everyone wants to say their shelves and studios are worse...Listen: When I posted my 'mess' shot, I didn't even THINK that people might think your whole HOUSE looked this way...I just didn't think it. I'm sorry I forced you to explain yourself in a future upload! I never intended tha---you've posted many shots of your place, and people could see how beautiful and clean and open it is, so I didn't think twice. But hopefully no one thought this was typical of your home. Anyway, I love the shelf, it's great to see all this stuff and wonder what half of it is for. I don't have anything like this (my stuff is stuffed in piles so thick, you need a bulldozer to get at them). And the art on the upper right: Is that a photo, or a digital painting, or what??? It's fascinating from this distance. I see art of yours and all kinds of things I can't explain, and supplies and god knows what. Great shot---very clear, btw, and colorful full size. I really don't think anyone thinks this is how you live, overall, but sorry if I left my fans with that impression. I'm still looking for shots of my real piles...I'll post one when I find them...
