perfect title for this winter impression with some dry leafs in all the gray color tones around, creates a depression mood 😀

The quality of the light is wonderful. Misty and mysterious. I like it that you left the contrast a bit light along the dark branches. My tendency is always to mess around with the contrast until I've spoiled the look I originally liked! You've done a gorgeous job with this shot. Love it!

This is a brilliant composition though not obvious at first. The transition from light to dark, from sky to earth (from heaven to hell?) captures the eye. The mass of leaves near the center breaks up the monochromatic image and draws the eye to the wonderful patterns created by the branches around it.
In other words, this is really, really good.

It may well be shades of grey - but there is also a touch of GOLD, which brings me to the few Autumn leaves of last year... hanging in there, indeed they are so brilliant with the selective colouring like-effect, an overall serene image Nikolay.

What Tara, Mark and Brigitte said. I rest my case.
(did you think I wouldn't comment---with my big mouth? not a chance...)
There's real definition here, but everything is bathed in a softening, misty-ing gray. With Brigitte, the gold really stands out, hanging in there; with mark, the way those front leaves break up the monochrome is wonderful; with tara, the light on the branches---in an otherwise dark image---gives great definition to the foreground: Wonderful piece, once again doused in a sense of memory, seeking the irremediable, and beauty coming through it all...maybe the answer to the 'seek'...And it inspires us to look deeper into our own imagery, at every turn...Beautiful.
