One of your closeups of nature that are just consummate. I love this. The snaking forms all make a 'fugue' (a piece with several melody lines playing simultaneously, just in case you don't know what it is), and the textures are terrifically clear and prickly. The light is intense, and then you have shadow. And parts of these cacti are decayed, giving a whole other texture to it. Terrifically shot, postworked, and cropped. 'In medias res' at its best. Love it.
