Description

3. Park near home (also very large) Want to say that I've been watching Claude's work for some years now, and I never cease to marvel at what happens in his eye. It has atomic fission going on inside, and he manages to weave it into his photography like a weaver weaves colors into their yarns. His photos, to me, are atomically alive, and magically woven. Sometimes Tara will discuss Claude, and she'll tell me about standing in his workroom, and seeing a finished 'Claude' project; and marveling at how that photo became magic in his hands. It's not because he 'added' magic: It's because he coaxed it out. The magic was there, he just gave it permission to shine. You all know Michelangelo's saying that the sculpture is in the stone, and he merely carved away the 'excess'? Well that's what Claude does. He removes the veils, and reveals the nuclear essence. That's magic. So here's to you, Claude, for continually taking those shots under your care, coaxing them, talking to them, coaxing more, and releasing the photo from inside the photo...then posting it in your gallery. And for spreading your backbone of quality to all of us, with your support and sense of integrity and beauty and insight and heart, everywhere you visit. It's a great treat, and a gift. Happy Birthday and many more, and lots of blessings your way! Mark -----------------------

Thanks again, Mark - you're way too kind. The thing that my mind jumped to immediately in this photo is that stone bench with the green wooden slats. When I was growing up in NYC, that exact type of bench could be found in almost every public park & it brought back nostalgic memories for me. So thanks for that too, in addition to the triple treat birthday wishes!

And now we go from warm, shining light to a lush, green oasis of relaxation and tranquility - a stunning way to wrap up this trilogy of eye candy, Mark!

Hmmm. I don't think he's in my list - I shall have to remedy that!

Happy Birthday, Claude!

The first thing that catches me eye is that huge tree. I love trees, I wish we could have oaks here instead of the usual scrubby stuff we have. Poplar isn't a tree no matter what they tell you.

A lovely tribute to Claude and his great photo work. Really like this park shot. It reminds me of the wonderful days I would walk in the park with LJ and the wieners.
