I first started with CG when I was in high school. In art class we could mess around with 3D Studio Max R2.5. None of the teachers knew anything about how to use the program, all we had was a tutorial book. Although I've always loved computers and 3D, back then I didn't realize a person could make a career out of it. I ended up pretty much dropping it until recently (about 12+ years later).
I studied computer science when I was in college, but at the time sitting in front of a computer for hours on end sounded unappealing. So I got back into what I grew up doing and worked in construction. Now after injuries, falling off roofs and meeting a guy who works in VFX, my passion for CG has been re-ignited. Which brings me to where I'm at today, dabbling with CG any chance I get and loving it!

Thank you!!

Nice pose and background. But the water does not look like water. Maybe it is the lighting. Nice character.

Thanks for the compliments and feedback!!
The water did prove tricky. Trying to shade it properly was a challenge. I could get it to look more like water, but then it would cast these ridiculous shadows. Plus, it's probably a little too clumpy, trying to compute it at higher resolutions was crashing my computer. But, It was my first time anyway, I'm sure the more I play with the better it will turn out. ;)
