Description

There has been a lot of talk about Donald Trump’s travel bans. Perhaps you have thought this would not affect you since you are an American citizen and you would never do harm to the United States. Well this crap just got real for me. My friend Gabriel, a captain in the U.S. Army, was deployed to the Middle East leaving his wife of two months. You can see their wedding pictures here; https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/new-family/2722055/?p All of us were excited when he was on the way home to attend an Army training session. This morning he sent a Facebook post to all his friends. Let me show you what he wrote. “I was wondering how U.S Customs Enforcement would treat me in this new world of the Trump Administration. I was traveling with another Officer, same passport, but different ethnic background - went straight right through...didn't even wait 1 minute in line. Customs even smiled and said Welcome Home. Sure enough! I get selected for extra screening. After waiting in line for 30mins with the non-Americans, I get to the counter and give the Agent my Military ID, brown Official passport, and ask him - I want to know why an American Army Officer on Active Duty, traveling on a US Government "Official Business" Passport, is getting treated like a second class citizen. After recovering from being shocked, he quickly says - well Sir, if you give me one minute I can tell you... and then quickly changes to the topic to where I'm deployed to blah, blah, blah... He then asks me what my birthday is and after me telling him, he tells me that I match a "be on the lookout for"..... WFE buddy, good job pulling that one out of your ass!” A U.S. Army officer IN UNIFORM is pulled aside while his fellow officer is waved on through. Did I mention the fellow officer was Caucasian? Did I mention my friend is Mexican-American? Does anyone really think that things will not get worse?

This shows how stupid government employed persons can be. It's SO obvious these imbecils can't use the 2 1/2 brain cells they're endowed with. If Pres. Trump were to pass through they would hit him with "Sorry sir, them's the rules!". Why do heads of state have their own planes? Because government employed imbecils will be bypassed by all on the plane. Believe me, I've seen so much stupidity (and this is NOT only in the USA! Enough of my rant! You all get the picture!

I give this 'Resident a half-term at most. He's already well on the way to losing the loyalties of virtually everyone on staff. Let alone congress. Russia isn't going away. And Americans have well learned the price of horse race/horses ass electoral politics. Now, if we can just stop this mad man from starting WWIII. And it's a BIGLY "If".

It was just a matter of time! When the Army hears of this, hopefully it will travel up the CoC all the way and Dump will get an earful from the Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Thanks for this great narrative!! As an American citizen who served in the United States Marine Corp and is of Mexican descent, I see this quite often. Thanks for bringing this out here!!

With all due respect, allow me to first say, we must - all change, in our ways of this world, myself included.

Secondly, your friend is an American - who just happens to be of Mexican decent.

Why aren't our Caucasian citizens not hyphenated, I wonder?

Better yet, let us all agree to do away with the institutional prejudice and racism that a hyphen fosters and projects.

I agree with you, overall. We should continue to be outraged.

I'm sorry I didn't comment on this the minute it went up: I meant to, and don't know why I didn't jump over here and do it. I do remember your shots of Gabriel, they stick in my mind to this day, because of the love you put into them, and the great shots of family, and his new wife, etc. I can see his face. This instance he told you about: I heard one slightly similar, and it's just awful. If the immigration people have to do such checks, then they should check everyone just out of fairness. (And why would anyone think that only certain nationalities could have 'dangerous' people? The racism is stunning.) Either that, or don't do it; or have background checks on everyone without harming the people, or whatever: Work something out. But it's all the more egregious when it's done to a military person---a guy who's trained to put his life on the line for the very people examining him; and to humiliate him by pulling him aside while taking his friend? This kind of idiocy is all over the Trump administration, I"m in total empathy with you. At least his election brought out protest, town halls, marches, and grass roots I haven't seen on the left in eons. But it was too late. Terrific upload to make the point. And, sheee-it, the american flag never looked so menacing---considering it's just a 'flag'. Yet, in light of this xenophobia and ultra nationalism, our flag really does look stark and blaring. It's great to see an upload from you, and when I come back for more than a night and day, I'll go back into your earlier work once more. Hope all is well, Mark. Lots of light to you...

Not at all, sir. At least Germany is capable of learning from history. Apparently we still have some way to go on that.

it is the terrorists to blame for travel restrictions. like him or not President Trump's actions to make the US safer is a good thing.

American active military has been known to commit terrorists acts. the price for living on our world has went up. 99.9% of problems in the world is over money. people use religion as an excuse.

I honestly don't know HTF that idiot ended up in the White House.... Hillary wasn't my first choice, either, but The Donald scared the s##t out of me. Still does... Now to compound things, we have that lunatic in NK doing his level best to start WW3. This whole world has gone nuts. Bring on the Deathstar.....
