Description

We were also presented with a traditional Mexican courtship dance. This is where the man chases the woman until she catches him.

This is a very spectacular moment of the dance, when the skirt swirls up to the shape of a fan - you caught that moment perfectly... most probably a flamenco dance 💃 (?), a fine presentation Mark !

Always happy to see people come out for your work---your gallery deserves major attention, and it's beyond me that it doesn't get it (while so many galleries who do so much less do get lots of it. They don't know what they're missing.) Full view, we can see the old mexican villages in the painting; and also the heavy contrast between the sharpness of the woman's face and the swirling motion of her skirt. You caught a real dancer's moment, and the flirting of it, the courtship. And a cool cowboy's posture in the guy. Again, the intense theatrical lighting, and the silhouettes of audience in front...I realized, with these, that so many of your shots capture joy. This is ay joyful mini series for your friend's marriage. A real delight.

(Btw, on your dad's 'pawn shop' coat of arms: My father would relate. He always said that our symbol should be an old wool sweater, because my grandfather sold when he came here from Russia. Instead of swords, the emblems of a humble but brave life, which your father seemed to embody. Hope you have a fine New Year's, Mark, and thanks for all you give here, all year round. It's greatly appreciated.)
