My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Wow! At first I thought you had done some manipulation, but obviously not! Great capture of the veins in the marble! And with the strong sun which somehow bleaches the whole. This adds to the contrast. A kind of etherial atmosphere here. Keep up the good work! This is really nice.

Very iconic image

Iconic, ironic, ionic...such great words and at least two of them apply here:-) I do see your recently acquired filters at work here. Love the way you are able to combine high key in the background and still show details in the foreground...much as the eye really sees under these conditions. Mighty nice.

Well, those are indeed some capitol capitals in the Capitol city, Tara! Yes, indeed - this wonderful photo has 'Tara' written all over it. Or maybe engraved into it... Whatever the case, it's sooooo you - which means it's great.

Leaving aside the subject matter this is a really fine photograph. The lighting is subtle and superb. The composition is exceptional. Excellent work.

As I finish up comments this time around, I want to do another couple of yours and bills. This looks unmanipulated, and yet gently worked with. The high key light in the background is wonderful, in contrast to the deep shadows in the foreground, and of course the detail. (Bill's point, rephrased.) The gentle curve gives a clue of how large this is. And your light makes the columns appear to glow. Ionic rarely has it this good...it has an etch-like feeling. And you caught the many lines and swirls of the marble too. Beautiful piece, I felt it when it went up and feel it as much now.
