Description
Well, I'm not officially "back," but I still want to acknowledge special days, and today is (if I'm not mistaken) Teri's birthday (GrandmaT). When I finally entered 3D galleries, I discovered a whole new world, and a whole new bunch of terrific people who came with it.
Teri was one of those people. I loved her energy, her stories and the novel-like images she made for them. And I loved her cinematic style (great angles and drama) and the intimate feelings she so often captured. And her sense of fun and play right along with her sense of drama. I found her work to be such a delight, and she strikes me as that kind of person too. And I get the sense that all her fans feel the same way.
I've also loved hearing about her family and grandchildren, and her home. Also, I've loved her comments and her way of giving happiness to all of us.
So I looked for a picture that captured magic (she lives in a magic part of the States), and I dug up this. It's a bit saturated, but hey: Try to imagine a wand coming down and touching it. Lake Michigan at dawn really does feel this way some days; and I worked on it so it would a bit that way...
Happy Birthday Teri, and many, many more! Thanks for all your joy, dance, kindness and wonderful art, and I hope your world is shining for you today! Lots of light and inspiration your way, and many more years filled with it all,
Mark

I'll visit your galleries this week, and return longer next month.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

I love the quality of the light in this shot. Gorgeous shadows, and the colors are perfect. Beautifully done!

Love the composition...how can you take, at first glance, an empty beach and make it so interesting? Well, to my eye, there are several stories here (duck my imagination is running wild). First the foreground...is it a soccer ball, a volley ball, or a basketball? Who left it there? Will they be back? And then the shoreline...is that an old man with a rake? Hey, the beach crew has a tractor and a huge rake...you don't need to do that. :-))) And of course the birds...they are always along to get their picture taken. AND the light!!! You must be up early again Mark, catching the sunrise over Lake Michigan. And why does this make a perfect setting for a Coppertone advertisement?
And Happy Birthday to you GrandmaT. Have a fine day.

This is AWESOME! You found my soft spot - Sun, Sand And Surf. Thank you so much for the photo and the kind words. You always find more in my images than I thought were there. This is the best present I could have and has made my day. Thank you so much Mark!!!!!

This is so lovely, Mark - and what a perfect dedication for a wonderful artist and friend! The warm hues, and wonderful backlighting really makes this shot pop, my friend! And thank you - you know what for...
Happy Birthday, Teri!

what a fantastic dedication. this quiet beach is lovely. the lone ball sitting all alone is sad, but maybe not... maybe it has had a wonderful, action-packed day with lots of children and now it rests quietly waiting for tomorrow. the lighting is excellent; I love how it shines on the water, the smooth sand, and the rough soil in the foreground.

Quite extraordinary! It seems almost apocalyptic in these colours. Fascinating!

Cool scene, Happy Birthday, Teri...!

An interesting take on the photographer's Rule of Thirds. Actually you have five zones here ranging from rough textured shadows in the foreground to a white blown out sky. And a wonderful dedication to go with it for Teri.

Lake Michigan ! what a delight at dawn... and I would want to do nothing better, than to run around barefoot along the shoreline. I feel like a barefoot Baroness here at home, most of the time of the year, no shoes - just freedom for the feet, feeling nature and textures, massaging the soles and keeping in touch with those heavenly elements - ouch, I must have just kicked that ball there, which was not a ball, maybe a rock ? there is also a guy [top left] scanning the sand for pirate treasures and seagulls waiting for a morning feed from tourists... life goes on, isn't it marvellous ?
Mark, your post-work is just perfect and illuminates the glory of another day, it feels so warm and inviting.
BTW - I had learned or tried to copy what Chip used to do: type in 3 * [asterisks] and I thought it was very cool, to separate certain different thought patterns etc. and voila - there appeared a long line instead ???, what the ? which was never my intention, I wanted 3 asterisks ! and NOT a long line - HELP ! so I am stuck with it for now or have to keep learning how to find the 3 lost asterisks, somewhere in this big Universe of ours... and now you are copying my mistakes LOL !!! way to go Mark ! and it's back to the drawing board for me - unless you can find those lost little stars and let me know ?

This is such a lovely and tranquil shot of your sunrise? Yes I think I remember it was always sunrises from that angle? I love it and the sand with all the "Sandwaves" AND the beachball. Love this shot and I wish I could see it with my own eyes. Standing there and just enjoy the morning sun. WOW! What a dream it could be. :) This was the last I had in my Mark-inbox, I still misssed commenting on dear Mark. Have a wonderful week. Hugs from Dk Helle
