Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Marvelous capture, great sense of music effect trough the game of light's reflections !!!!

I think you did right by shooting this POV. You added a tremendous atmosphere and a contrast from being out in the rain to the warm, entertaining atmosphere of the café. Great work.

it sets a mood that an inside shot could not!

This has a raw immediacy an inside shot would have lacked. The reflected pavement and the fact that we can't see their faces really adds to the image. Great work.

Inspired! I love it!

I love this! The view through the window gives us choice. We can go in and listen, or we can walk by to the next thing. Outstanding photo!

Yeah, I'm with the above on this. It's a great choice. By standing outside in the rain, you got a feeling of how warm and alive it is to see an intense gathering of people and music, inside, when you're standing outside in the rain. It's like a glimpse into someone's living room, when standing in a rainstorm outside: A lot of warmth is happening inside. And you got the reflections of the street too---with cars and other lights, and the reflections in the wet pavement. But the city outside 'communes' with the inside, it doesn't interfere with it. A terrific shot. Composed and cropped beautifully.
