Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Thanks for the nostalgia! Typical San Francisco day, I was about to say. But here, a good layer of fox, a bit more than usual. Leaves the viewer guessing until he/she reads your text. Keep looking for more old photos. Always fun to discover what one has forgotten one has! And POST them! :-)

excellent capture of the icon, shrouded most of the time in fog. can the public walk around under the bridge? I see a gate blocking cars. I always wanted to take pictures from down there

I'm catching up on the shots you've posted since I last commented, and I don't know how I didn't comment on this. I saw it the day it went up, but I never said anything at the time. (It was worth a special visit, even though think I was offline at that time.) A big spectacular view of this iconic structure. Great pov, and the fog really comes in and cuts off the bridge entirely. And just a hint of the cables---that one rising cable looks like a gigantic fishing line...with the precipice below and the fog-eaten water...Terrific shot, and very much yours. When you go monumental, you go monumental.
